Sanna’s Impact qualify to final of Canadian Championship

The Montreal Impact of Sanna Nyassi came from behind to qualify for the Amway Canadian Championship final series thanks to a 6-0 drubbing of Toronto FC at Stade Saputo, Wednesday night, taking the two game aggregate series 6-2.
Forwards Marco Di Vaio, with two goals and two assists, Daniele Paponi, Andrew Wenger, Justin Mapp and Andres Romero all scored in the win, while goalkeeper Evan Bush registered the shutout.

Sainey Touray named USL Pro player of the week
Gambian striker Sainey Touray has been named in the USL PRO Team of the Week for Week Six of the season with him earning the honors after recording a goal and an assist in Harrisburg City Islanders’ 5-1 victory against the Rochester Rhinos. Touray was outstanding throughout the contest, challenging the Rhinos defense with his speed. He had a pair of chances to open his account in the first half, hitting the post moments after Jimmy McLaughlin had opened the scoring.

Manneh the difference in Vancouver Whitecaps
When Vancouver Whitecaps drafted Gambian youngster Kekuta Manneh fourth overall in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, they knew they were getting a player with a plenty of promise. The question was when that promise would actually turn into production. Sooner than expected, it turns out. In Saturday’s 2-2 draw, fans at BC Place witnessed Manneh’s mouth-watering potential become something tangible, as the Gambian striker played a crucial part in a comeback from two goals down, first scoring in the 72nd minute before setting up the equalizer just three minutes later.

Demba Savage opens Veikkausliiga scoring account
Gambia winger Demba Savage scored his first Finnish Veikkausliiga goal of the season on Monday in HJK Helsinki’s 2-0 triumph over MyPA at the Sonera Stadium. It was HJK’s first home match of the season after winning their opening match 2-0 away to FC Honka at the Tapiolan Urheilupuisto.

Gam-MLS wrap: Futty’s Timbers extend unbeaten run, Sainey makes bench for the first time
The Portland Timbers of Mamadou ‘Futty’ Danso extended their unbeaten run to six matches with a 3-2 win away to Sporting Kansas City. Futty Danso was playing his second game of the season in a scintillating clash which saw Portland Timbers coming from behind twice in the first half but eventually got their noses in front of Sporting 13 minutes after the break through a goal from Rodney Wallace.
